Our magazine was first started
by journalist Ian Waghorn more than 15 years ago. Ian had previously worked
on national newspapers in the UK and Australia, but became increasingly
disillusioned with the ‘big business’ way of working, so
returned home to Cornwall and started the magazine to use both his
journalism skills and new-found love of Apple Mac computers!
He was later joined by his wife Alison, and the couple set about reflecting what
was happening in Cornwall. Over the past 14 years a lot has changed, not least
our name, changing from ‘What’s On in West Cornwall’ to ‘Inside
Cornwall the What’s On magazine’ to finally establish our brand as
Inside Cornwall, covering the whole county. We have been around for the birth
of Tate St Ives, Hall for Cornwall, the Food in Cornwall Association, The Lost
Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project and most recently the National Maritime
Museum Cornwall - and have developed great relationships with them all.
We are enjoying the journey as well as striving to continually improve what we
do. We’ve been joined by a great team, which makes it all the more exciting.
So, to those of you who have followed us from our infancy – thanks for
your company. To those of you who have just found out about us - welcome and
we hope you like what you see.
Alison Waghorn
We publish 12 issues each year.
